Leeland Eisenberg “I need to speak to Hillary Clinton, Something’s got to change. Ordinary people need help” with their insurance

The hostage-taker Leeland Eisenberg appears to have been prompted in his choice of hostages by Hillary Clinton’s campaign issue of government-paid healthcare for all:

“The senator was willing to do anything that we needed her to,” said Col. Frederick Booth of the State Police. But he said officials refused to allow the suspect to talk to the senator, because it would take away the ability for officials to negotiate.Dubois said the hostages have been provided with emotional assistance.

Eisenberg had a hostage call CNN three times and spoke to network staffers during the standoff, CNN reported after the ordeal was over and all the hostages were safe. Eisenberg said he wanted help getting psychiatric care, but had been turned away because he didn’t have the money.

“I need to speak to Hillary Clinton,” CNN quoted him as saying. “Something’s got to change. Ordinary people need help” with their insurance.

The network described Eisenberg as “well-spoken, articulate and impassioned about his cause” but increasingly agitated. His third phone call was laced with profanities, CNN said.

In other news, a Gallup poll reports that Democrats self-report much worse mental health than Republicans. The article slants it by saying that naturally other variables like the higher wealth of Republicans have their own effect. However, there are two problems with this assumption. First, as indicated by this Daily Kos diary, with increasing wealth comes Urbanization, and with Urbanization comes Democrat-party affiliation. And second, even with wealth, race, and sex taken into account, the Gallup results stand.

Let’s be clear. With the understanding that lunatic hostage-taker Eisenberg is a fan of Hillary Clinton and that he and other crazies are in favor of socialized medicine, the reason for Clinton’s stand becomes clear. Michael Savage is right. Liberalism is a mental disorder. The Democrat party does something to encourage its partisans to become or remain mentally unbalanced. The philosophy of modern welfare-state Liberalism is mentally unhealthy. And now the Democrat party wants the entire country to pay for medical care to fix what the Democrat party does to its own.

  4. Donald Lambro writes

In a state-by-state, district-by-district comparison of wealth concentrations based on Internal Revenue Service income data, Michael Franc, vice president of government relations at the Heritage Foundation, found that the majority of the nation’s wealthiest congressional jurisdictions were represented by Democrats.

He also found that more than half of the wealthiest households were concentrated in the 18 states where Democrats hold both Senate seats.

“If you take the wealthiest one-third of the 435 congressional districts, we found that the Democrats represent about 58 percent of those jurisdictions,” Mr. Franc said.

This was a reference I was looking for but could not find while writing the article originally. It bursts one of the main objections that Gallup had to its own conclusions, that Republicans are richer than Democrats and that makes them saner. NOT!
