The BBC reports from Iran:
Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has called for greater unity between Sunni and Shia Muslims amid continuing fears over Iraq.
He told a gathering of Shia and Sunni scholars the US and Israel were trying to sow seeds of sectarian division in order to bring insecurity to Iraq.
So the Ayatollah of Iran, whose Quds Force has been supporting both Sunni and Shi’ite sides in Iraq, including the most extreme Sunnis in Al Qaeda and the most extreme Shi’ites in the Sadrist and Badrist brigades, and also suspiciously close to the Kurdish separatists in northern Iraq who are stirring up trouble in Turkey, says that someone has been sowing the seeds of sectarian division in Iraq. As Iran has been the major puppetmaster sowing these seeds of sectarianism they have to divert attention away from themselves now that they have been caught.
